The Trusty Classic
I'd forgotten how much I love these pens.I've own multiple over the years, and they have been one of my most favorite things. But somehow I lost my last one, and then didn't get around to buying a new one for some years.I was a little worried that something major would have been changed, but thankfully it seems just as simple and solid as its predecessors.I may have to get blue and red ones now, just to complete the set.

Nice pen
So far, this is a nice pen. It's slimmer than I expected, but it's still comfortable to write with. Ink flows nicely.

An absolute classic
I have a couple of vintage Jotters that are at least 40 years old. With a fresh cartridge they'll write beautifully, and they feel good in the hand, but I don't carry them around with me. They're vintage, some of them with logos from companies that no longer exist, and if I lose one, it's gone forever.Luckily, I can avoid the dawning realization that I've resorted to hoarding pens by buying a new Jotter for less than $7. Unlike my vintage ones I doubt it's still made in the US, but the quality seems about the same.If you buy one, I suggest you get a Fisher Space Pen refill for it. The Parker cartridge is fine, but the Fisher cartridge does all the magic Space Pen stuff-- writes over grease, is waterproof, etc. Not only have I become a pen hoarder, I have to CUSTOMIZE them, too.The bad news? Well, I'm not too fond of the pocket clip. It has a tendency to sometimes work itself loose and either get lost, or allow your pen to get lost, or both. This one appears to be fine but I have a Jotter without a pocket clip that suffered this fate. Also, the price for these pens seems to have doubled since I bought mine. $14 for a Jotter? Really? No thanks. For $14 I can buy a year's supply of G2 gel pens and not care if I lose a half dozen. Or a Fisher Space Pen, which is appreciated even by people who aren't pen nerds. For $7, however, I'd buy another Jotter just for the retro-cool look of it.

They Don't Make Them Like They Used To
I'm a writer and, other than a MacBook Pro, a pen is THE most important tool of my craft. I've been using Parker Jotters for more than 40 years. My parents used Jotters. They were reliable and had great, quick drying ink, a major benefit for a lefty. Glory days. But something has gone drastically wrong. More than availability, more than color selection, reputation, or aesthetics, more than even price, above all else a pen must reliably WRITE. Other reviewers have mentioned some buyout or merger of Parker. Whatever. I couldn't care less. If you sell pens they must reliably dispense ink.I bought 10 (ten) of these and, based on more than 40 years of consistent experience, opened them all and put them in my pen and pencil holder. Later, I clicked on the Old Reliable and...nothing. Well, not NOTHING. My new pen did make an indentation on the paper. I continued to make an indentation on the paper for maybe five seconds. Finally, ink came out. But then it didn't. For a few long seconds. Then it did. Repeat with all 10 (ten) Jotters. It takes this kind of reinforcement to overcome decades of consistency. But don't be fooled. This is not your parent's Jotter.IF (the middle word in life) you, like me, are so bereft at the loss of your once-favored ballpoint, that you would be willing to make a further investment in it, rejoice. You can buy Fisher Space Pen refills, which come with an adapter that works perfectly well with the Jotter and actually does, reliably in my one test, dispense ink. After thinking about my investment, I did not rejoice. I was pissed. You might ask yourself why Fisher has found it profitable to make an adapter for another company's pen? But the answer is obvious. And angering. This aggression will not stand. I will not participate in this flimflam.I used to make fun of people who said They Don't Make It Like. Snooze. But I'm now reduced to being a part of that group. I've moved on now though, found closure where I could, took comfort from other, lefty friendly, pens. And I'll always have the memories. But I'm ending the cycle. I will not return again to a Jotter.Apologies for the capitalizations. I'd prefer underlining or italics but they're not available.

Great Pen
I always buy these pens. They write on surfaces other pens don't or can't. Totally reliable.
