Have only used it once so not sure if the defect is with the Thermometer or me. When I first turn it on, it automatically goes to 74.6F. Would think it should start at zero? There was not much in the way of instructions on the package (explaining if there is a way to set it at zero or if it should even start at zero) and nothing online in the Amazon description.

I use thermometers for my work all the time taking temps of 200 pkus degree water. I needed one the would hold up and keep working. This one did not let me down. Its pretty accurate and easy to read and see. The only complaint i might have is that i wish there was a sleeve to protect the probe when not in use and to carry.

I love this thermometer. It is digital and sensitive. I make my own buttermilk and the temperature of the milk has to be rather precise to succeed and with this it works every time.

The clear plastic cover has peeled off the face of the thermometer.

We are using it for meat, but also plan to use it for making cheese.

All of the features work. (C/F, Hold, On/Off) The unit is easy to clean. Note: The buttons are small. People with large hands may have difficulty using them.

This is my favorite kitchen item. Works great.
