The number one boot for service members.
Plain and simple these are the best boots in the military. The only thing that sucks is the price. They are comfortable and fit great after break in. I've had these boots for years and I mean more than 5 years. This has to be my third time buying this specific model of boot and this is the most I have ever had to pay for this boot but at least the fit is still the same. If you are new to buying boots get these boots before they stop making them for some reason. These are the best out there.

Love them
Not perfect but dang close. Light weight, durable. Sole seems to be wearing out a little faster than I would like, but I wear them for 12 hours a day on concrete…

Comfortable
I wear a size 12, 12.5. These boots are very comfortable. Having damaged feet with problems in my metatarsal area, these boots are incredibly comfortable. Have not had the chance to get them wet, but have used them on rainy days for grocery shopping and was incredibly comfortable. Will update when the wet test happens. 5.20.25

My dad LOVES these!!!
My father has been obsessed with all things tactical looking since I first went off to basic in 2014. I’m long out of the service now, but he still teases that he’s ready to fill in for me.He’s a large man and finding comfortable + supportive shoes for him is a difficult task, being a size 16.5/17 extra-wide, but these Rocky’s absolutely met the task. He’s in love with these boots!

Very expensive, updated version of the Bates Anabon
This is a great duty boot for LE, corrections etc., if a bit overpriced, but should NOT be mistaken for a load-bearing mission-type boot. After serving as a grunt for 12 years, I knew as soon as I put my feet in these, that they would never hold up to real abuse, contrary to some reviews I've seen from some guy who was yammering about carrying a 20-lb ruck. Sorry but my LBE weighed more than that. Heck, I carried more water weight than that. For real grunt-types who routinely have to carry rucks in the 65-80-lb range, this boot would be less than useless. For those loads, for the sake of your feet and joints, stick with Altama, Danner and the usual suspects.Fast-forward a decade or so, to my current occupation in corrections and you have a totally different story. For long days on concrete and steel, these boots will keep your feet cool and comfortable and they are a pretty good looking boot, as well. There's no break-in period necessary and they fit great right out of the box. I can already tell that the sole is going to be trouble. It's really soft and comfy now but it is certainly going to wear quickly. My best guess is that, in my current boot rotation, these MIGHT make it two years. You can bet that, if you're a cheapskate and you wear these every day, you might not even get a year out of these soles. Naturally, if you're in a position where you do a lot of sitting, you'll see it differently. Speaking of the soles.... If you work in an environment where chemical irritants, such as OC, are somewhat omnipresent, watch your step. These are not great on slick concrete, as there isn't a huge surface area of the boot sole that actually makes contact with the surface you're walking on. Just beware. These are what I consider high-end duty/uniform boots and I have no doubt that they will serve perfectly as such. After many years on my feet, footwear is not an area where I'm willing to compromise and the $170.00 price tag phased me not in the least. These replace my last pair of Bate's Anabons (now discontinued) in my current rotation of 2 pairs of Bate's Defenders, 2 pairs of Altama hot weather boots and a pair of Rocky Fort Hood boots. The Fort Hoods are relatively sorry, which explains why you can find them for about $90, all over the internet. These S2Vs are an immediate and dramatic upgrade. I'm expecting great things out of them, which means I'll soon forget that I'm even wearing them.In short, KNOW what you're buying a boot for, then make your purchase. These are not Danners. These are not Matterhorns. These are not Altamas. Don't expect them to hold up to abuse as though they were!

Decent Pair of Flight Approved Boots
I’ve had a pair of Rocky’s for a couple years now. I wear them pretty much every work day as they are the only pair of flight approved boots I own. They have held up pretty well. Quite comfortable. I recommend.

SMALLER THAN THE COYOTE VERSION
I have the same boot in the coyote rough put style size 10.5W. Ordered the same size in the black leather version and they are a full size smaller. The heel to toe legnth is about .25-.50 inches shorter. They're super comfy in the right size just beware that they run way small.

Good comfort, great support, a bit pricey...
I have been an avid user of Rocky Alpha Force boots for over a decade. I need a pair for the Army now and tried these on. They are definitely in the "heavy duty" category, on par with the likes of the Garmont T8 Bifida. They have good support and sole cushion. I passed on these after I tried them on because I am looking for something a little lighter for long ruck marches. These are good for heavy field / mountain use for sure.
