Crock-Pot 5-Quart Digital, Smudge-Proof Slow Cooker SCRP500-SP

It's a really good slow cooker. I love the dual time and temp settings which gives you more control in cooking time and temperature. the exterior is attractive and smudge proof. I've used it and it did an excellent job on the cooking and keeping warm. Clean up was easy. I've only had this one for a month so I can't comment on longevity, but my previous Crockpot cooker lasted for over 15 years. I expect no less from this one.

I got this slow cooker for my wedding in 2009, and I love it. I use it a couple of times a week in the winter, and at least twice a month in the summer and it's still going strong five years later. It is easy to use, and the timer is so nice. That way if you're away from home for longer than the cooking time, you don't have to worry about it scalding or burning nearly as much as one without a timer that you have to manually put into warming mode or turn off. The crock pot will put it automatically into "warming" mode after the timer goes off. You can remove the stone cookwear to wash outside of the "outer shell" which is so nice compared to those kinds you have to wash carefully because they're permanently attached. I liked it so much that I ended up buying the exact same crock pot for my mom for Christmas this year. She is technologically challenged, and was worried about the buttons. She picked it up like a champ and she loves it too. Great buy for the price, highly recommended.

I upgraded to this crockpot from the typical high/low/warm one I had before. This crockpot heats up quickly and cooks my food perfectly. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because even on the warm setting, the food is still very hot. I end up just turning off the crockpot instead of leaving it on warm because I'm afraid my food will overcook. Other than that, it is a great buy and recommend it for someone looking to upgrade.

What's to say? Well made, does the job perfectly - and got it here on Amazon for a great price. I was surprised at how much food it holds - a pleasant surprise! The automatic control panel is great. Set the time and temp, and go about your day. Dinner's ready and still warm when you get home. My wife & I have used the crock pot twice since getting it a couple days ago, and are 100% pleased with it.

Shipped by Amazon Fulfillment, and this is my first time ever being dissatisfied with the way something was shipped. They simply slapped a shipping label on the original manufacturers box, and off it went. I was appalled and disappointed as the Crock Pot was for a Christmas gift and went through all of the shipping and handling without any extra protection. I hope it works because the family members that I bought this for would be too shy to tell me if it doesn't work, or work properly. The 3 stars is just because of the Crockpot name and their great products. I would give them 5 stars and -5 for the way it was shipped.

Works great in geating the food and the keep warm after the set hours is a good feature. The inner stoneware is easy to clean but if food gets on the outside stainless steel between the stoneware and the inner portion of the crock pot its permanently stained. Also it stopped working after my 14th use. My next one is the old knob type no more push vutton digital for me.

I am a long-time Crock-pot owner/user; and when I say long-time I mean more than 35 years. I bought this Crock-pot to replace my old one that finally gave up the ghost. I have cooked in this twice now (both times with the crock more than 3/4 full) - the first time our food was dried up and burnt after less than 6 hours on low (10 hours) setting. Today, I started my spaghetti sauce on the low (10 hours) setting at 8:00 in the morning and by 10:30 my sauce was at a full-out boil! I turned it to warm (which I have never had to do before) and went to the grocery store. When I returned in 1 hour my sauce was still boiling and was beginning to burn and stick to the bottom of the crock. If this had been the only incident with the brand, I would probably say that I had gotten a defective product, but this is actually the second Crock-pot slow cooker I have purchased this year. I purchased a larger, oval cooker this past spring and had exactly the same problem. In all fairness, I did contact Crock-pot then and told them of the problem. They said the burner was cooking too hot and sent me a replacement. The new oval one does do a slightly better job, but I would never leave it cooking all day while I was away as I have always been able to do with my slow cookers in the past. Just don't feel it would be safe. Word of warning, if you purchase this Crock-pot, never, EVER leave it unattended and check your foods often. Personally, I won't be purchasing a Crock-pot brand again; twice is enough.

My daughter and her husband used their crock pot a couple of times a week for many years to get tasty and healthy meals on the table for their family as they move about their busy days with school, swimming, and soccer and everything else for the kids and work demands for mom and dad. They eventually wore out the crock pot they had, so I got them this replacement for Christmas. They love it. Nothing particularly fancy, but being able to switch automatically to warm is a nice touch. I am sure they will get many years of good service from this 5 quart device.
