Makes the case for iodine supplementation
I read this book in one evening when it was delivered. The author makes a good case that most of us are iodine deficient (~90% of us) and it convinced me to take start taking Lugol's iodine formula (now about 12 mg/day or 4-5 drops of the 2% liquid). Although I did not have any obvious symptoms of iodine deficiency, I do see some likely benefits (more alert, better sleep, etcetera). The author quotes from Dr. David Brownstein's books on iodine enough that I don't think I need to buy them. However, you may want to if you need to take a deeper dive into treating specific things with iodine. I deducted one star for small, faint type. Older eyes will wish for a slightly larger and bolder font.

Absolutely amazing book
This is definitely a must have for anyone interested in alternative treatments. Very eye opening and puts a lot of the puzzle pieces together. This author has several other books that I have read and several other books I have on order. Very very informational. My highlighter was working overtime in this book. I absolutely recommend this book. Your future self will thank you for buying this book.

I now have the 4 major books on iodine. Please read more...
If you do not know about iodine, you need to know what's in these books. Start with the cheapest starter book called "Iodine and your thyroid" and you will want to get the rest of them. Read about the connection between breast cancer and all cancers to iodine deficiency (and much more to know about). This iodine book addresses the different organs in the body and their need for iodine. Heart disease, etc. There are two substances that everyone needs to know more about: Iodine and Ascorbic Acid (vit C). A very complete book on vit C is "Vit C: the real story". Oh my gosh, the things we don't know about!

Absolutely love this book.
This book will educate you on the benefits of taking iodine for every reason your body can think of. I take a minimum of iodine and not every day. For years I used Detoxadine by Global Health and it's great but expensive. Recently I switched over to Lugol's 2% solution, less expensive and it does more for me, hard to explain. I eat a diet with shellfish and other seafood and eat iodized salt so perhaps I don't need as much as someone without those foods but I do feel the benefits (energy, good sleep) when using it.

Unknown Unknowns of Traditional & Alternative Practioners
Mark does a great job of systematically demonstrating the underling benefits of appropriate iodine and selenium levels on most if not all chronic illnesses facing modern society. It’s unfortunate that the incentives and constraints of both our allopathic & complimentary medical models don’t reward both practice areas for the straight forward and simple (often done at home for almost pennies) assessment and treatment protocols outlined in the book. But if you’re curious enough to be the ultimate decision maker about your own health (versus blindly following even the most well intentioned practitioner’s recommendations) this book is for you and will lead you down a path of long-term health without life longs scripts and their often disastrous side effects.
