I absolutely LOVE the message in this story!!!
This book is AWESOME!!!!I absolutely love the message in this story—and that it was delivered in such an entertaining an realistic voice? Excellent!Maddie Evans is pretty much the biggest gossip in her school. When Maddie's gossip hurts her best friend, Vi, she receives an ultimatum . . . she either has to stop gossiping for 30 days or kiss their friendship good bye. She doesn't want to, of course, but Vi's friendship is too important, so she agrees. As you can imagine, this isn't as easy as it looks . . . but she tries. The toughest part, which I find so true given her reputation is even when she keeps quiet with all the gossip around her, Maddie's silence is interpreted in different ways and others fill in words for her . . . making her friendship hang on a teeny tiny line. These are relatable characters and perfect for the age group. Learning that your words and actions can hurt others is a valuable lesson. Ms. Faris portrayed the story in such a fun way, even if you're wary of the gossip girl, you can't help but to cheer for her! Now, excuse me while I run to download 25 Roses from this author!!!

Great Message!
Great Middle Grade book! Maddie Evans has trouble holding her tongue and finds it impossible to keep a secret. She even publishes news about her peers in The Troy Tattler--a gossip column for her middle school. When Maddie accidentally reveals sensitive information about her best friend, Vi, she is challenged to 30 days of no gossiping--a nearly impossible challenge. Caught between an insatiable desire to gossip and a desperate attempt to regain Vi's friendship, Maddie must decide what's really important. This novel will appeal to tweeners struggling with gossip, best friends, and a desire to be accepted. Not only does Stephanie Faris paint colorful characters and a believable middle school backdrop, but she imbues the story with an important message about words and their power for good or for evil.

Good message, bad characters
First off, I think that Maddie should change her ways, but her friend Vi, is frankly in my opinion, a bit rude. Shes like, if you dont stop gossiping for 30 days, I will throw away our lifelong friendship foever. I think she could have helped Maddie stop gossiping, instead of threating to stop being friends with her. And then instead of gossiping, Maddie starts lying and worrying about everything she says, worrying that it would make Vi not talk to her ever again. Vi should have been a better friend to Maddie. The message of this book is really strong, and its a good message, but I think the author should have made it different for Maddies growth.

a girly read with an important message
Maddie Evans is the biggest gossip in her school. She knows everything about everyone and writes The Troy Tattler, the school’s gossip paper. When her gossip hurts her best friend, Vi, Maddie has to make a choice. Vi gives her an ultimatum: stop gossiping for 30 days or their friendship is over. Maddie attempts to do this, even though juicy gossip about her classmates and the school is so tempting. Can she do it? This ordeal helps Maddie discover what motivates her to gossip and the meaning of friendship. This is a girly read with an important message.

Great Book For Ages Nine to Ninety
This is a book for the Middle School age group (9 to 12), but it is a fun read for all and has a message for everyone. Gossip can be hurtful and, sadly, it doesn't end with our school years. Parents and grandparents who like to know what their children are reading before they hand a book over will find this one a pleasure rather than a chore to read. Highly recommended.

Inspiring
This book is very inspiring because it is sending a message to the readers. Maddie Ev as 's and Vivienne Lakewood were the best of friends.Till Vi cheers as challenges Maddie to not gossip for 30 days. Vi is convinced that this will make Maddie a better person. Through rocky paths Maddie and Vi find their friendship deep inside and keep their lives going with each other.

Cute
It's nice to read a book where the main character is real and flawed. Seventh grade is tough but this author does a great job of teaching a lesson without being preachy.
