Quality depends on which flavor/type you buy
It looks like amazon lumps all the reviews together regardless of flavor. I've found that the quality varies WIDELY depending on which type of Pro Plan canned food you buy.I'm very happy with the "classic" versions (such as Beef & Rice Entrée, which is what I bought). That's the stuff that looks like ground up mush. My dogs scarf it up like it's the best stuff ever, and beef is at least listed as the first ingredient.HOWEVER - the "gravy" versions are complete garbage. That pretty picture on the can of meat slices piled with veggies is NOT what you actually get in the can. It's mostly slime (a.k.a. "gravy") with chunks of processed meat (think "spam") and a few sad looking bits of vegetable. When it comes to the "gravy" versions of this food I COMPLETELY agree with the review entitled "Should Be Called Soup" and other 1-star reviews. It's a rip-off, smells funny, and even my dogs turned their noses up at it. And that's coming from the same dog who once at half a dead raccoon and apparently thought it was delicious. AVOID the "gravy" versions.I took off a star because Pro Plan has gotten ridiculously expensive in the last few years. My dogs eat the Pro Plan dry food with a spoonful of wet mush mixed in to jazz it up, and even though one can lasts me almost a week I still feel like it's overpriced for what you get. I do think it's better than a lot of other brands of canned dog food, which is why I keep buying it. Even so - I only buy the "classic" versions.

Terrible shipping and communication by Amazon.
The item is wonderful if Amazon would only figure out how to ship it me on time. Was order 2/20, original deliverey was 2/22, delayed to 2/25......still don't have it and mo communication about what I might get it.

So convenient!
As a full-time RVer, I’m in the process of switching my 17-year-old babies from Farmers Dog Food to something more travel convenient. Since this canned food for seniors is highly recommended by vets, I decided to try gradually making the switch. I’m at half and half and they LOVE it! I’ll get different flavors for variety to see what appeals to them and soon they’ll be totally on Purina Pro Plan 7+ and my freezer will be freed up for ice cream!

Just add chicken
Bryson eats it all but definitely needs a little chicken topper to get him started. I mix about a quarter cup of this with a quarter cup of the dry toy breed Purina Pro Plan for my 7-pound Cavapoo who is two years old.Extremely easy to pick up after my dog. I won’t go into detail, but his diet definitely contributes to the ease of keeping things clean around the home.
