EDIT: The seller went out of their way to find me on facebook and offer to send me new adhesive stickers for the locks, told me how to get rid of the old residue, and gave me tips to help reinstall to make sure they work. IT WORKS!!! I am so happy and just blown away by the service from Liu! Thank you so much!I gave 2 stars because my experience was disappointing but maybe it’s just my toilet? I bought two of these, installed one, and won’t be installing the other. I’m going to return both. The good is that if this works for you, it’s really easy to install. I before I applied I measured from the back of the toilet to where the device would be positioned. I then slid the device to the side (in the “opening” setting) and moved it forward a tad on the toilet for an extra right fit. The result was that when you pushed the button it would bounce into place and need a little extra assistance to wedge against the back of the toilet.First, I had this on my toilet for all of 10 minutes before my 1 year old ripped it clean off (see photo) and yes I cleaned and dried the area before attaching.Second, while it was on my toilet my son was still able to open the lid - even with making sure it was extra right to the back of the toilet’ The little bar just slid down and did not stop the lid from opening. It put up the smallest amount of resistance before it just slid down and failed. I even used a rag to make sure the back of the toilet was dry and it didn’t change a thing.I’m super bummed! I read the reviews and everyone said it worked well. I don’t know why it failed for us. :(

A great idea, but if your toilet tank has any curve at all to it, or if the toilet lid is at anything but a perfect right angle, this thing will just flex.Also it is abundantly clear once you put it on that the lever arm of the toilet lid is so much longer than the lever arm of the locking unit that any decently strong toddler could defeat it. For now it keeps my one year old out of the toilet, but mostly just because he hasn't learned to defeat things by just using a bit more force. I predict it will by in the garbage before he's two.

The review asked to rate its suction power, but it is actually attached by peel and stick adhesive. To be honest, I was skeptical that it would stay put, but I leaned on it firmly for about 30 seconds when I first attached it (make sure you have it centered and straight!) and closed the door to the bathroom for about an hour to give it a little time to set. She’s tried a number of times to wedge the seat up with her nose, but it’s held tight! She’s a smart girl, so I’m guessing that at some point we might be able to take it off, but it’s really not much of a bother to use, is pretty intuitive for guests who use our powder room, and it’s not unattractive. All in all, very pleased with this purchase!

this toilet lock is easy to use for adults but will still keep the babies and toddlers out of the toilet. It comes with two sticky pad which is my favorite part because the heat sometimes makes the glue come off the tape and I will have a back up. I really like this toilet lock and highly recommend it to parents.

These locks are really strong and were very easy to install, but unfortunately they didn't work with our toilet design.I was reading that these are very difficult to remove (a good and bad thing!), but for us we had a very easy time following this process:1. Heat locks with a blow dryer for 2 minutes.2. Wedge a putty knife between lock and toilet seat to lift lock. Continue to work around lock/through adhesive. It'll take a little time. I used a butter knife and it worked well. I also continued to blow dry while using knife to lift the lock. All in all this step took less than 1 minute to do after heating the lock.3. Once the lock is removed, there will be some adhesive stuck to your toilet seat lid. Use an adhesive remover or goo gone.I made my own homemade version of GooGone thanks to Popsugar.Ingredients:-Mix 3 tablespoons of baking soda and 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a small container-Apply small amount to adhesive on toilet lid and rub with finger in a circular motion. I also used a paper towel to rub the mixture.-Wipe with a wet clothThis worked so well for me!! From start to finish the whole process took less than 5 minutes. I hope it helps others trying to remove their locks.

I installed these on two "approved" toilet styles according to the instructions. I left just enough space to turn the stopper (1mm according to the instructions). At first I thought "wow, easy install!" and marveled at the peace of mind I would have knowing my 20 month old couldn't throw things into the toilet when I wasn't looking. But then, the next day after letting it set for 24 hours, I engaged it and lifted the toilet seat to find that not only does it still lift high enough to get things into the toilet, but that with just a little bit of extra effort, the stopper just slides down the tank and the whole thing opens. Not only that, but within two days my toddler had figured out how to disengage it. I'll be removing them and looking for another solution.

This is a very simple device that will keep the toilet closed. It works by sitting on top and being in a position to hold the lid closed. It's simple to disengage as you push the button and twist the arm to the side. When you close the lid again, you just push the button and it flings back to the position to block. It's very clean, no need to worry about it getting gross with the toilet, it is never touching the dirty parts.

The brute strength of a toddler is more than enough to lift the toilet seat up with this lock installed and the height of the lock added to the lid of the toilet seat means the seat sits at at a 70 degree angle from the seat when being used by an adult, not a comfortable experience. Also seems to be too heavy for our soft close lid to be able to handle and now falls shut. Good in theory but in or active this type of lock is just not practical.

This product is amazing! Simple, yet so effective. If you position it right, it stops your little one from being able to lift the toilet seat up and all, giving you peace of mind for those brief moments you take your eyes off of them.The adhesive stuck perfectly, definitely worth the money.

This product worked very well at first, such a genius idea. Unfortunately my 12 month old is now strong enough to just pull it off.

Works perfectly, no more phones or books have been found in the toilet since we purchased it.

This product doesn't work to lock toilets.It's either missing a part or IDK but it's supposed to latch into something to lock the toilet and that part was missing.I do not recommend this product.
