Performs well, easy to apply
I would recommend vinyl gloves rather than nitrile, the material seems to stick to nitrile better. If you wet what you are using to apply with a little water, it spreads a lot more smoothly. I haven't used it in a heated application yet, but I like the flexibility, and assuming it withstands the temperature it claims to, it will be ideal for my application.

Improvement over silicone based caulk temp wise
It is better than silicone because it can withstand a higher temperature - 800 F. I used it on my wood stove pipes, just above the stove. It has a nice black color and overruns clean up nicely with water immediately after you put it on. I used some when I put the pipes together, but I still had some leaks so I put a thick coating around the pipe seam areas. When my stove gets real hot I can smell the compound as it gives off a bit of an odor. As the pipe expands and contracts I have noticed that the seam of caulk cracks(even though there is some pliability to it) and I have to re-apply to spots. Not completely satisfied, but it is better than the less expensive silicone. On the other hand this stuff is not cheap either.

Rutland 800* stove pipe joint sealant
Was very easy to apply and use! I had some areas that I applied a little to much product so it squeezed out when I screwed the stove pipe together. But still not a problem. Easy clean up with a damp paper towel. My pipes are sealed with no smoke escaping at the sealed joints. Was no curing smell either after I built a fire in the wood stove. Excellent product!

Wouldn’t trust to waterproof!
Used on chimney. Went up the next day and it shrunk and left cracks. Would use to waterpoof. I bought high heat silicone on top of it to seal everything up.
