U can use the whip for anything. Air compressor will plumb straight to reel if preferred

Q: Is this reel spring loaded so it can be mounted on the ceiling or does it have a crank and has to be manually rewound?

It is spring loaded and I don’t see any issue with mounting it to the ceiling.

Q: can you fit more than 50' on the reel?

Very doubtful. It might squeeze out 10’ more but if it’s rolled up uneven, could get wedged against the wall/ ceiling
