Excellent!
This book is,exactly what I was looking for to continue homeschool. The pages have a variety of colors and it is much more than read a paragraph and answer a couple questions.

Good for homeschool
These books are good for homeschooling. Information is given in chunks for each topic, not spiral learning. Fun layout and pictures make these engaging and less boring than others. They have them for multiple subjects so it is easy to organize daily work for kids.

Great reading comprehension book with skill building practice.
These books are worth their weight in gold! Not only are the short reading segments very informative and educational but the strategy is to the point for helping students with basic reading comprehension skills. This has really helped my 7 year old son with his thinking and reading skills. Each section focuses on a skill with to the point practice. The skills covered are very helpful and the level of difficulty is straight up in the middle for him. It’s challenging enough to make him think but not too difficult. He also enjoys it. This book is extremely effective and worth it! Lessons can be accomplished in a few minutes a day.

SAME as reading section in the full curriculum book
We have the “full curriculum” grade 3 workbook. We blew through the reading portion so I ordered this individual grade 3 reading because I liked the Harcourt style. It turns out this book is EXACTLY what is in the full curriculum book. Same stories. Same questions. Bummed out. I give it 5 stars overall. BE AWARE that it is a duplicate, if you’ve purchased the full curriculum book.

A good practice
I firstly found this book in B&N bookstore and purchased on Amazon as it provides more discounts. Generally, it’s a good practice for kids as the passages are short, questions are clear and covers different topics.

Great for Homeschool.
Love this series. We homeschool and use the reading, spelling, writing and language arts books from Flash Kids each day. My daughter really enjoys all of them, but reading is her favorite. For each lesson there is a story to read and reading comprehension questions to answer which are generally multiple choice. Each unit teaches various skills such as using context to determine the meaning of words, etc.

Excellent series of workbooks on reading skills
I really like the Reading Skills workbook series. Six skills are taught: facts, sequence, context, main idea, conclusion, and inference. Each skill has a two page explanation with examples. Then there are lessons with short readings to help kids learn the skill. At the end of each skill, there is a writing roundup that asks kids to write showing an understanding of the skill. Pages are colorful and answers are at the back. Pages are perforated for easy copying. This series is my go-to resource for summer school.
