My B&D BDCCN24 Type 1 charger works for this lithium battery
I ordered the 18 volt 5.0 Ah lithium battery for all the tools in my B&D Big Tool Bag because the original 18 volt NiCad batteries would no longer hold much of a charge. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that my B&D BDCCN24 Type 1 NiCad/NiMh charger successfully charged up my new 18 volt 5.0 Ah lithium battery. Neither the battery or the charger got excessively hot or had any other issues while charging the new lithium battery pack. At the end of the charge cycle, the charger status light did, however, flash quickly indicating a bad battery pack, but when I removed the new 18 volt 5.0 Ah lithium battery pack momentarily and then reinserted it into the charger, it showed a steady red light, indicating full charge. The battery status lights on the end of the lithium battery pack also showed it was fully charged too when I pushed the charge status button. I won't leave the new lithium battery in the charger for long periods of time, but at least my new style NiCad/NiMh charger does charge up the new lithium 5.0 Ah battery pack and I don't have to buy a new charger. The older style of B&D NiCad/NiMh chargers may not charge the new lithium battery pack. I will check to see if one of my older B&D dual-chargers will successfully charge the new lithium battery pack. I will also be doing a functional test of this new 5.0 Ah lithium battery pack in my B&D 5-3/8 inch diameter skill saw to see how many 2x4 boards I can cross-cut with it before I have to recharge it. My old 18 volt NiCad 2.0 Ah battery packs would not cut more than 7 or 8 2x4's before needing to be recharged, so hopefully this new 18 volt 5.0 Ah lithium battery will perform much better than the old NiCad battery packs. I will also address the "longevity and value for money" issues after I conduct the 2x4 cutting test. Stay tuned.

FULL POWER until the battery dies!
My blower and weed trimmer have never kicked so much tush! And they keep up the full power until the battery dies. This is so great compared to how the blower can barely blow after only a few minutes, requiring me to change the battery a few times to get the jobs done. I have been able to do almost every job with just one of THESE batteries, which is why I’m buying one more today for two reasons:1. To have a backup for when I’m a dummy and forget to put the battery on the charger when I finish a job2. So that when one battery doesn’t quite finish the job, I will now be able to use just these FULL POWER batteries until ANY job is done 😎Oh and one more great thing, it comes with a charger! It’s very handy to have a charger for each battery. Plus it has 4 LED lights that light up if you push the button to show how much battery charge is left!
