NIV, Giant Print Compact Bible, Leathersoft, Black, Red Letter, Comfort Print Imitation Leather – Large Print, June 23, 2020

This edition by Zondervan is a gorgeous, and well made Bible.The print is very large, the cover is soft, with ribbon markers, and also red letter. It's compact and a little chunky, but great for the price.

I am a pastor in Illinois and I recently got this Bible. I love the size of the print and the size of the book itself. I have recommended it for a couple reasons. Not only is it easy to read because of the print size, but unlike most bibles, this one is single column. Because there is less text per page, you also seem to read more because you aren't bogged down on any single page too long. That momentum seems to help you keep reading from God's word. Good job with this one Zondervan.

The Giant print compact NIV Bible is the same depth as the NIV large print study Bible (2") but is smaller and lighter to carry. I wish this version came in 'thinline'. When/if it ever does, I'll buy it and pass this one along. The thinline Bibles have very thin delicate pages that some people feel are too 'see through' but I really like those light thin whispy pages and have never been bothered by vague shadows of letters on flip side of the pages. So I wait. I believe this compact Giant print Bible would be significantly thinner but its definitely NOT a deal breaker for me. This compact Bible lays flat, has room for notes in the margin and is easy to read. I highly recommend it.I bought the large print NIV study Bible for home use and the NIV giant print compact Bible to carry with me. I've compared them in photos so you might more clearly see how their sizes compare. The study bible is large and heavy. I take it to small study groups but it is my primary study Bible for home. I LOVE it. It lays flat, has amazing cultural intros, study notes, images and maps. I'm writing in the margins and highlighting personal favorites.

I've been looking quite some time for an edition of the New International Version (NIV) Bible that is small enough to carry with me wherever I go, and yet with print large enough for me to read easily. I recently found one that fits my needs perfectly: the NIV Giant Print Compact Bible from Zondervan.This is a really exceptional Bible. It measures only 8" x 5.5" by 1.75", so it is an ideal hand-sized Bible. The Bible has a two-tone black and gray Leathersoft cover that is soft and supple. The print is a 12-point Comfort Print font that is large, sharp, and very easy on my eyes. This red-letter edition features the words of Jesus in a dark red that is also easy to read. The paper is of good quality, with some "show-through (ghosting) evident, but not enough to be a distraction. There are no cross references, but this edition does contain all the translators' footnotes.As far as the NIV translation itself is concerned, it is excellent, Because it is rendered in modern 21st century English, it is very easy to read and understand. For me, the words of Scripture come alive better than any other translation I use. It did take me a little time to get used to the gender-inclusive language used throughout, but I have come to really like it. I now consider the NIV to be one of my top three favorite Bible translations.I am very pleased with my new NIV Giant Print Compact Bible. Highly recommended.

Wanted a small NIV to take with me as I travel a lot for work, but also wanted it to be big enough to read easily. This one has a great font size and the manufacturing quality seems very good. I’m not sure it’s compact…seems like a standard book size although smaller than full sized Bibles…but it IS a little smaller and it works well for me. Plus it feels nice and looks nice.

Easy to read

I love this Bible. Yeah the paper is kind of cheap but there’s minimal bleed through, and the words of Christ are in dark red. The font size is huge. Single column just like a regular book which I love. Two inches thick and fits solidly in your hand. 2 ribbon markers. Footnotes. Best Bible I ever spent 30 dollars on. I like it even more than some of the more expensive ones I’ve purchased in my time. 10/10 would recommend.
