Q: best way to sharpen this knife

You can use the Spyderco sharpmaker, whetstones, etc. The easiest is to just send it to Spyderco if you aren't good at sharpening as they will bring it back to razor sharp and oil or do any repairs deemed necessary for free. If it is a fake and you send it to them and they figure out you were scammed, you can get 50% off MSRP if you let them keep it to study it.

Q: what is the blade steel??? probably the most important detail!!!

Cpms30v. Holds an edge well, take a little bit of extra effort to sharpen but not ridiculous. I cut up a lot cardboard boxes. Cardboard scratches and scuffs up a lot of blade steels very quickly. S30v can cut up a lot of cardboard and the blade still looks new.

No play at all. Very solid knife

Depending on how you measure it between 3.25 and 3.5. The cutting edge is 3.125.
