Aluminum Lightweight Fish Bat

I read some reviews saying the handle was like electrical tape instead of foam as the description says. I purchased 2 and they are both foam. The bat itself is very sturdy. There is a metal hoop with a tether attached on the bottom of the handle, which is quite strong. I would suggest replacing the tether itself for a leather strip, to assure you won't lose the bat or have it taken from you.. but... it will still serve its purpose. Judging by the cunstruction and materials of the bat, I get the impression it would function as intended- if ever needed. I got them for self-defense. I am pleased with my purchase and recommend this bat for people that are looking for an 18" bat for self-defense purposes. I am not a fisherman, so I can't say if it would function as a fish bat. I can say, it is too lightweight to be used as a tire thumper for a large truck- but could be used for a mid-sized truck, pick-up / SUV or a car. Good quality product for the price.

I bought this for protection when walking my dog. It is the right size, and eventually I will camoflage it to look like an umbrella so I don't look so crazy walking thru the neighborhood. But my 9 lb dog was attacked by a pit bull mix that I didn't even know was in my neighborhood. It happened so fast, I could have lost my dog. Fortunately he wears a vest, not a collar, so I was able to snatch him up in the air and away from the dog before he was injured. I learned that 600 little dogs a year are killed by aggressive dogs. I also learned that one theory is that the tiny dogs look like squirrels to the aggressive dogs. The dog that came after mine was definitely hunting him, he wasn't coming over to say hello. He went right for my dog's throat.So now I carry this on every walk and I hope I never have to use it. But it's well made, light weight but also easy to carry with the grip and lanyard handle.

I bought this to carry with me when walking my dog. It's light enough to carry and swing without effort, but solid enough to serve its purpose and disable an attacker, whether that be a loose aggressive dog or a human. The lanyard is important here, so you won't lose your protection even if you let go and open your hand for some reason. My suggestion is to spray paint it flat black. The photo I'm attaching to this review shows how I spray painted this bat with matte black, alongside a tee-ball bat that I'd spray painted glossy black. The difference is huge. Overall, this bat is perfect for a simple legal defense option.

Ordered for protection. I keep it in my bedroom. It's lightweight but seems sturdy enough to do some damage if necessary. I hope I don't have to use it & I don't think it would kill someone or myself if taken away.

Depending on the fish, this may or may not be what you want. This is perfect for a KO for small to medium halibut but if you're looking for something for tuna/albacore this is just enough to stun them so they're still and you can, well, you know, finish the job and make a mess of your deck.

It's not light nor to heavy but is heavy enough if u hit some 1 with it it will do some damage, love the bat ,update I had it painted nice huh
