This thing really PUMPS
I have to be honest - we just installed this last week. We have had our sump pump fail once and flood the basement with a couple inches of water, and also have had power outages when we were out of town and the sheer panic that comes over us that the power isn't going to come back on and our basement is going to flood again is worth EVERY PENNY of the basement watchdog. We installed this ourselves in about an hour and half, taking our time and making sure it was an nice install. Of course used a check valve, tapped into our existing sump pump line, and bought our own group size 27 marine deep cycle battery from the local menards (Hey, it was FREE after all the rebates I had stored up). I like that the BWE has a float switch with DUAL float switches in case one fails, the other one will activate the pump. If you've had a sump pump for any amount of time in your life, you know how important that is! This is the basic unit after all, I don't think you can attach wi-fi to it but heres my thought on that - if the powers out, the wi-fi modem/router in my house doesn't work anyway so I didn't feel like I was missing much there. The price was nice, it was pretty straightforward, and when we press the "TEST" button, it really empties the sump put pretty quickly, I am impressed. Now if the power goes out, we can scratch stressing over the basement flooding off of our list! Get this, you won't be disappointed.

Works As Intended
Installed as a backup emergency sump pump for my Goulds sump pump. Tested and worked fine moving water approximately 9 feet up and out the wall to the outside of basement. (Make sure your weep hole is "above the waterline," where the top of the sump water will be when the pump starts, or it will airlock.) I found this out the hard way and had to replum and raise my weep hole. The pump done well and emptied the sump with no issues. I recommend the Weize AGM maintenance free battery on Amazon to pair with this kit, it came fully charged and is as good as the watchdog battery but cost less.

Works exactly like it should.
I've had this system for a year now and it is still going strong and has already alerted us when our main pump went out. The alarm is loud and high pitched and even wakes us up on the floor above. Instructions were great. I'm using an Optima battery with it and it's cooperating fine. Pay attention to your water table height (how fast your pit fills after pumping). Mine was refilling very quickly so I raised both pumps maybe 10 inches and there's a huge difference in pumping frequency. My check valves were also leaking back into it so test for that. Zoeller check valves are the way to go!

Smooth and Quiet
It is working good so far. I haven’t done any maintenance after buying.Very quiet and notifying quickly if it uses batteries for pumping.Pump power is enough for my basement.

Piece of mind!
I am a first time home buyer so anything I can add like this to give myself some piece of mind is something worth trying. With the help of my dad we installed this with 1 trip to Menards (hardware store) as you do need to cut into your existing PVC pipe from the sub pump you have now and create this second route that goes into this backup system, it’s not as hard as it sounds I promise. Also a few other people mention it but you do also need to buy your own 12V battery and I bought a battery box to put mine in which is not included. You don’t need to buy their brand and if you google it, it will tell you where to connect their extra wire to make it stop beeping on a regular 12V battery.

Does the job!
Got a chance to put this system to the test recently. Installed it months ago, but had 2 bad storms here recently, sure enough lost power both times. Have a weiz 100 ah battery installed up to my system. With both storm we got tons of rain. First storm we lost power 7 hours, no issues. The second time we lost power for almost 13 hours, zero issues. During both outages the pump was pumping every 2 mins, the 100 ah battery and watchdog did their job.

Very weak pump. Only 6 foot lift too
The media could not be loaded. Very weak pump..... I thought it would work great. I had a 3/4 pump i replaced with a 1/4 pump. Then got Watchdog as a. As backup. I bought a battery and this system and very disappointing.
