Q: Help! put it together twice. pretty sure its correct. if i help the pendulum it will click a couple times and stop. its wound up all the way.

Your problem is most likely due to a small amount of extra plastic flashing on the escapement mechanism pivot pins, which causes a slight binding on this mechanism in its bearing pivot holes. The escapement mechanism is the small claw like translucent plastic piece at the very top of the clock that rocks back and forth with the pendulum movement allowing escapement gear it sets above to move one tooth at a time (making the characteristic tick-tock sound. Try slightly sanding the pivot pins on the escapement mechanism to ensure they fit into their mating pivot holes with absolutely no resistance...the escapement mechanism should be able to move back and forth totally freely...with no resistance.c

Thank you for your interest. Yes, the clock keeps time. You have to adjust the pendulum to get it to do so precisely, just as someone must in any real pendulum clock.

Q: How often do you wind it?

It varies slightly depending on how fast or slow you have it adjusted to run but our clock will operate for a few hours on a wind.

Q: I don't see any pendulum in the illustration -- is this really a pendulum clock?

Yes, it definitely has a pendulum. It attaches to the escapement through an opening at the top of the case on the back side of the clock. Take a look at the short video included with my review to see the clock running and you can clearly see the pendulum swinging behind everything.
