Q: starts at 4' so you'd have to adjust accordingly????? Why would I have to adjust accordingly? Does it not go from 1 feet to 8 feet?

They seem to come in 4' sections, 1-4', 4-8'.... So you have to be sure you order the right sections and the pictures don't always correspond to the section you want, so read the description. I was looking at the picture when I ordered, not paying attention to the description. I wanted 1'-4', but I received the 4'-8'. But it was a quick and easy exchange. if you want 0'-8', you need to order the proper two sections.

Q: How does this hold up in the winter? I'll be using this to replace one that broke in this years snow storms and heavy spring thaws

it is pretty wobbly and thin. I generally remove it from my pond before it freezes. But if attached to a thick t-post should hold up
