Good Hedge Cutter without the need to worrying about cutting the AC line cord. That's the first like. The cutter seems able to handle most any hedge or shrub. Apparently, I assumed I would be getting a Gen 3 battery but I received a Gen 2 battery which really doesn't tell you the state of the charge. So, I am making some assumptions to maximize the battery life. I assume from the articles I've read, that the battery run time (for one charge) is 40-45 minutes. Also, I know from reading that the idle time for the battery before it drains down to 30% (automatically) is 30 days. I've started putting a post it note stating the time I've run it (approximately) and the date on the battery after use. This way, if I expect to use it one day after 30 days have expired, I know I have to charge the battery. On the other hand, if I plan on using it before 30 days have passed and I haven't had 40 minutes on the battery, I also have to charge it before use.I think the new equipment should ONLY ship with Gen 3 batteries since they give you a general idea of the charge. If I had the Gen3 battery, the post-it note would be unnecessary. You would just check the relative charge on the battery before use.Was I suppose to get a Gen 3 battery with this new hedge trimmer, battery, charger?Update: I have measured the voltage afer running 60 minutes and it was 50 volts (well within the safe limits) and so I keep track of the usage (sticky note on battery) and when I get near the time limit, I recharge.

I got this for land clearing and landscaping work around the home. It works extremely well and as a plus it uses the same battery system as my E-Go chainsaw. Quiet and runs about an hour between chargings on the 2.5ah battery that came with it.The overall weight & balance are good enough my 77 year old mother can handle it safely without any problems.

I had purchased an EGO blower on the advice of my sister recently. My past experience with battery operated equipment was poor at best. I am an older female and need equipment that is not too heavy or difficult to wield. I was so impressed with the long battery life and power of the blower that I purchased the Hedge Trimmer. I am so impressed with this Hedge Trimmer and the EGO line. What would typically require a good hour of my time to tackle in the past took me a whole 10 minutes today. I completed a day-long job in an hour and a half. And the battery on the trimmer was still charged when I was done. Very impressive performance - able to tackle some tough branches. I highly recommend this product.Update: I’ve had the trimmer 4.5 months and the battery will no longer charge - it shows defective. Very disappointing as the battery alone is 3/4 the price of the entire set. Removed a star from my review based on this update.
