Berkley Powerbait in the orange colour is excellent for stocked trout. I've used it through Victoria, Australia with consistent success. The bait will float in the water column so I usually present it under a float with a split shot sinker to get it to the desired depth below the surface or simply let it float 30 cm off the bottom with a running sinker rig. It will last a long time in the tackle bag if you keep it sealed and is a handy bait to have on hand when you don't feel like digging up worms or just decide to go for a last minute fishing trip. It's quite soft on the hook, especially when it's been soaking for a while, so try casting in a smooth and gentle fashion rather that whipping it like a lure.
