Q: Is the hatchery pellet white or like a brownish color

Its brown and has worked a treat. Two big rainbow trout the first time I used it. I don't think that Amazon have the brown hatchery pellet available anymore which is a shame because I need to buy some more.

this power bait works very good but the price is a little high.

Excellent for stocked trout

Berkley Powerbait in the orange colour is excellent for stocked trout. I've used it through Victoria, Australia with consistent success. The bait will float in the water column so I usually present it under a float with a split shot sinker to get it to the desired depth below the surface or simply let it float 30 cm off the bottom with a running sinker rig. It will last a long time in the tackle bag if you keep it sealed and is a handy bait to have on hand when you don't feel like digging up worms or just decide to go for a last minute fishing trip. It's quite soft on the hook, especially when it's been soaking for a while, so try casting in a smooth and gentle fashion rather that whipping it like a lure.
