Q: Does one end have the screw thread to fit an old fashioned screw fitting mop? Thanks

no it is a basic broom blunt at both ends, i did leave a review on this item as felt cheated. You will have shape the ends to fit what ever you want it to fit on....its cheaper to buy a complete brand new broom for the same cost of this handle.

Q: Is this suitable for mops?

I don't think it would be. What type of mop do you have?-this is basically a long wooden pole-if you have a mop head which screws on to a handle it would not be suitable. Check your mop handle-if its all wood then I would check the diameter to see if it would fit. If the diameter isn't shown email the company-their customer service is excellent and they would be able to give you the exact size-hope tis helps?

I don't see why not mine is sturdy

100mm do you mean less than that 100mm is 10cm?! If you mean 10mm (1cm) then no the handle is thicker at around 20mm
