Q: Is this cake tin 3" in diameter and 4" tall - I want it for the top tier of a wedding cake - thanks for your help :-)

I'm looking for a recipe for a cake that is cooked in this tin. It's a two tiered birthday cake for my grandson but I'm having real trouble finding a recipe for it. Do you have one please? It's just that you've used one.

Q: what size pork pie dolly should i buy for this tin

Hello, Lorraine. I wouldn't recommend the use of a pork pie dolly for use with a tin (dollies are really designed for free-form hand-raised pies); I don't use one with my tins; I simply roll out the hot-water crust to a thickness of around 7mm (¼"+) and then mould it inside the tin, pressing down where seams occur but trying to maintain an even thickness without any holes. With practice this gets easier to accomplish. I would also recommend removing the pies from the tins after the first hour of cooking and finishing them off on a baking sheet. Trying to remove them from the tin when fully cooked and cooled down is a devil of a job! Best of luck with your pies.

Loose base makes it easy to remove cake from tin.When cake is removed from oven leave it to cool for awhile then place a tin of peas beans anything will do on worktop then place baking tin on to and gently push the side of baking tin down to remove cake.
