Would this trowel be good for marine fairing work using expoxy fillers? I'm wondering if the expoxy will bond to it or easily break off after cure.

This is a float. A concrete trowel would work but not this tool..

Is the handle really wood?

No it isn’t but it is a nice lightweight float
