Ordered this as doing Everest Base Camp trek later this year.Tried it to check it works.Very easy to use, follow the on screen instructions, you can not go wrong.Would recommend

Outstanding piece of kit. Great design, easy to use and it works! A week of drinking tap water in Nigeria and not a single tummy trouble. The locals thought I was mad!

I will be doing a lot of travelling next year so I will update this review accordingly.The pen itself appears to be well made and durable. The controls consist of one button, press once for a full ltr or twice for Half a ltr. Job done, could not be easier. My only critique would be the size and weight but there are smaller, lighter versions available. It also comes with a durable storage case that will attach to a belt or webbing.UPDATE. This unit went faulty after 5 or 6 uses. My initial impression on durability was incorrect. I will update this review after I have contacted the manufacturer.Katadyns Response to a warranty issue is that as the backlight can’t be fixed I should use a flashlight or a timer as the pen still works. Laughable from such a company.

Great for making water safe to drink, I use it when camping and I haven’t got sick drinking local water (not treated) small sleek came in a pouch that you can attach to your bottle our you belt. It is very quick you just dip the light into you full water bottle for one minute and that is it clean water.

Used this on a hike to sterilise water from a stream. Very impressed, good quality, easy to use.
