Q: Can this hair get wet?

Yes but because the material is synthetic the water really has no effect. I used the wig spray lightly detangle the hair. It works good to practice updo's and braid but it doesnt hold curls and no heat.... it will melt

To keep the head still... So you can clamp it to a table or desk and work with the hair without the head falling

The hair gets knotted easily the base doesn't work real well and it's wobbly and the clamp doesn't want to stay tight. As for the hair itself it's soft and pretty thick
