After conducting thorough research on these products, I made the decision to purchase this particular brand. From the outset, I have not been disappointed. The setup process was remarkably straightforward. I followed the instructions, which were easily comprehensible. The devices connected to the internet effortlessly, and I have only had them for a few days, yet they have been functioning flawlessly. I particularly appreciate the seamless integration with Alexa, which allows me to conveniently control the lights. Additionally, I have been utilising the accompanying app, which has proven to be highly effective. Currently, I am utilising two of the plugs, and I am actively seeking alternative options for the remaining two at a reasonable price. Considering the quality of the product and the exceptional value for money, I believe these devices are highly satisfactory. I paid approximately £30 for them, and the delivery was exceptionally fast. I ordered dinner at a specific time and received the devices by about 8:00 PM on the same day. I would undoubtedly recommend this company again, as the product has exceeded my expectations.

—— Overview/Summary ——The HomeKit compatible Meross Smart Plug Socket is one of the only outdoor suitable smart plugs on the market in the UK. With that in mind you would usually expect to pay a hefty price as they have cornered the market, but not in this case, the Meross is extremely well priced (especially for a HomeKit compatible device).The unit is very well built, with a solid hefty plastic construction. The cable for the unit is quite short, but that is intentional as it isn’t designed as an extension lead. The covers for the plug sockets have solid springs that shut to ensure a tight seal when no plugs are connected, allowing for the IP44 rating (the box says IP64 where as the unit says IP44 which I believe is the correct rating) of the unit and its suitability for outdoor use.I purchased the unit to use in an indoor location that has the potential for splashes which is in the kitchen. I have connected up my coffee machine and coffee grinder, offering me more sockets and the ability to set timers within HomeKit so my coffee equipment is only on when required.————— Setup —————The setup process for the Meross Smart Plug Socket is extremely straight forward when setting up in the Meross App or if configured directly into HomeKit using the HomeKit code on the back of the unit as it connects directly to Wifi with no fiddly hubs or unreliable bluetooth to contend with.—— HomeKit Compatibility ——In my time using the unit so far it has worked absolutely flawlessly with HomeKit, with no dropped connections that can sometimes be experienced with other HomeKit devices. The direct Wifi connection has been super strong (which you can see within the Meross app).I have been using it with HomeKit automations and shortcuts to create routines for when the sockets should be turned on and off for my coffee machine and grinder.It is also compatible with Google Home and Amazon Alexa, however I have not tested these features as I have a HomeKit orientated smart-home.——— Customer Service ———I have had to contact Meross customer service a couple of times to get some information cleared up and they have been super helpful and extremely responsive - especially considering running on limited staffing due to COVID-19.

Bought this wifi smart socket to control outside lights. I've had it in use for a couple of weeks and (so far) it works great with wifi and Apple Home. However, it could be improved with a couple of additions. The power cable is ridiculously short and I had to extend it. Also, I wanted to fix it to the roof timber of an outside room but there are no fixing holes. I resorted to extra strong velcro tape. Final verdict: Very good but could be better.

Love these plugs. Have other hive plugs I got free with British gas but they're so expensive to buy now so I got these alternatives. Really easy to install and use on the app. Great they show usage of each item in watts. Not super simple to programme the timer but OK once I figured it out. Great they work even if WiFi goes down.

The Meross outdoor smart plug is an ideal way to add smart switches to control outdoor electrical devices like garden lights. On the box it says IP64 waterproof which means it’s “protected from water spray from any direction”.Not only does it support Amazon Alexa and Google Voice Assistant it also supports Apple HomeKit and no additional hub is required. Set up was very easy. Simply open the Home app on your iPhone scan the QR code on the back of the switch and within a minute it was ready to use. I named mine Meross Outdoor and can say “Hey Siri turn on all Meross Outdoor” and both switches come on or to control single switch “Hey Siri turn on Meross Outdoor Outlet 2”. As it in Home app I can also control it from my Apple Watch. What I like about Apple Home is the simple way I can incorporate the switch into an automation to turn outdoor lights on at sunset.I would also recommend to download and install the Meross app as this can be used for firmware updates, adding was also simple as the Meross app picked up the smart outdoor plug was already on my network, this then let me check for to see if there was a firmware update.I also added the Meross Skill from the Alexa app signed into my Meross account to link it and Alexa control was also in place. So I now have Siri control or Alexa. The unit itself feels very solid and well made and when powered off and moved connected back to my network very quickly. The socket caps are spring loaded so simply close back up and stay tightly shut when not in use. The cable is quite short as stated but no problem as I already have an outdoor wall socket so this just plugged in and there are screw holes on the back so next job will be to wall mount it and connect up some garden lights. I had no issues with Wi-Fi signal when outside as the socket seems to have a very good range and is also very fast to respond turn on and off with no noticeable delay.Overall great item, simple to setup and compatible with all the main home automation systems, a great addition to any smart home.
