Q: How does this differ from the khbbv53 model that is selling for $79?

The difference is that this model is corded, and the more expensive ones are rechargeable/cordless. Mine was corded and pistachio color, so I got a great price on it. Frankly, I prefer the corded. I don't want to mess with having to recharge it at the moment I need it.

Q: How many watts of power does this unit have?

Actually Watts is a measurement of Power (Watts are the SI unit of power). Temperature is the measurement of heat. When electrical power is used, it generates heat as a byproduct (which is wasted energy). An electrical motor with more amps generates more horsepower. If the voltage remains the same and either Watts or Amps increase, the horsepower increases. Voltage x Amps = Watts and 1 electrical horsepower = approx. 750 Watts of power. What all this mumbo jumbo actually means is that if you had two immersion blenders that both ran off of 120 volts AC (a wall plug/outlet) and one of them was rated at 180 Watts and the other one was rated at 300 Watts, the 300 Watt blender WOULD have more power than the 180 Watt blender. This is not a marketing trick, it’s the science of electrical motors. There’s more to it such as power factors and efficiency but that’s basically it in a nutshell.
