Whether I'm charging my iPad, Samsung Galazy cellphone, laptop, or Streamlight Flashlight, I get to choose the charge rate according to my desired charge rate, which is important to battery life. Best car charger I've owned.

I tested this in my air conditioned house. I have a power bank with a DC input sitting right next to me for that kind of thing. It is usually in the lower 70s in here, so it's not burning hot. I hooked this up to my Galaxy S21 Ultra and used a USB-C cable that can handle 250w of charging. I say all this, because when I hooked this up to my phone via the PD20 USB-C port, the charger got hot. It got quite hot. The problem with that is that I didn't have anything else connected to it. I was not using any of the USB-A ports. It does cool back down when my phone starts throttling the charge down below 15w. The phone starts doing that around 80% charge. So, in a cool room, it gets hot. I'm not excited about how this would work in a hot car.The build quality does feel quite good for one of these. It has somewhat soft plastic around the outside, reminiscent of some parts of Dewalt power tools. One thing that's a little odd about the build is that it seems a little too fat for a typical 12v outlet. It won't pop all the way in, and any jostling causes it to lose connection. Again, not fantastic for a moving vehicle.I hooked it up to something that will only charge at 5v 2a and it happily charged it without ever warming up, So, in a cool room, it only gets hot when charging at 20w. I tried charging two slower things, and it started to get warm. These only charged at 10w and 5w. I haven't tried to charge both my phone and something else that could take advantage of the QC port simultaneously, but I imagine it's not going to stay very cool through that.Heat issues aside, it is working just fine. I haven't had it cause any problems aside from not wanting to stay in the cigarette lighter port. I do think PD20 is a bit low for 2023. That's not even enough to max out my 2 year old smartphone that wasn't even all that fast when it was new. Samsung hasn't been known to stay on the cutting edge of charging speed since all that fun with the Note 7.

I love this product, I bought many similar products in the past and this one works the best and great quality, also the charging speed is amazing.
