Walking Support
Broke the tibia & P/T didn't help much but, this brace controlled my balance & able to walk without pain. The brace does rub on the thigh so added a leg sleeve to stop rubbing. It does have to be assembled which was easy.

Not So Sure I Like
I'm a 72 year man, and one of my knees (left) acts up at times, even to the point of swelling. So I need some form of a knee brace...off and on, but not always. And since it's "off and on" usage, I really don't like people coming up to me, and asking how I "damaged" my knee, and which doctor I'm seeing for it. You know; that whole yadda...yadda routine. They mean well, just I could avoid it all. At my age, having a funny knee; is a "no drama" type thing. So I thought that because I wear baggy enough pants; that I could put this under them, thus also avoiding the pinching problem, when the knee does swell up. Well, goes to prove; "You can't have your cake and eat it too." I'd need even baggier pants than I have, to have that feel well enough. Therefore; I have to relegate this brace to times, where swelling and pain, really demands more than one of those knee-sock braces gives. But I actually have another "outside of pants" brace, that gives my kneecap (core of my problem) more support than this. So I really am forced to say; "Could work for some "really well". Just maybe not for me."

Brace plastic broke after barely 90 days
It started out decent but this brace broke during tightening in barely over 90 days without heavy use.Maybe if you know you need an affordable brace for the short-term, it would be ok.It did do the hinge adjustments with the tool. I found it slid down my leg no matter how much I could tighten it. (--I wore it over pants--maybe it's better over stretch pants or skin?)A feature I thought was clever is that at the ends of the straps, there are two-sided velcro patches so you can remove the attaching velcro to trim excess strap and then stick the velcro back on the new end. (The instructions didn't explain that and I initially thought I had to cut off the opposite-velcro end to trim it--but I discovered the removable patch before I did it.)

Lightweight and supportive.
I really like that the Focuboody Knee Brace only has a support bracket only on the Lateral (outer) side. This makes it light weight and keeps it from rubbing against my other leg. The four straps for attaching it to your leg are extra-long to fit all sizes of legs and are easily trimmed to fit your leg. You simply peel open the Velcro end, cut the strap to length, and then reattach the end onto the strap. The instructions that come with the brace does not do a good job of explaining how to set up the other two adjustments. One of those adjustments that make this brace better than most other braces is simple to adjust with the included allen wrench. This adjustment is the vertical offset that accommodates if your leg is not perfectly straight (if you are bowlegged). I slowly turned the screw as I bent my leg over and over until I could feel no binding.I did not need to adjust the level of flexion or extension and that ended up being a fortunate thing. Even though I did not need to adjust this, I still wanted to as part of testing the brace. This is where I was fortunate because there are two screws that need to be removed and one of those screws came from the factory stripped out. The screw would just freely spin while the other screw came out normally. This prevented me from removing the cover plate and installing the necessary shims.I am torn about if whether I can recommend this brace or not. I really love the design and the pain relief I experience when wearing the brace but that is tempered by the few faults. Besides the poor instruction manual and the stripped screw, by biggest complaint is the buckles are difficult to release. Two of the four are very difficult to release and I need to press the release button just right to get it to open. I haven't used it enough to find out if it will loosen up over time but currently it gets very frustrating to feel trapped in the brace.

Flimsy clasps ruin an otherwise good device
First, the top strap was so long I could just about double wrap my very fleshy thigh. But, the second strap was so short that it only just wraps around my lower calf. After rearranging the straps and gross adjusting their lengths, I put on the brace and tried to fine adjust the strap tightness. The buckles pop open when I tug hard on the straps. This is a problem, because I cannot snap the top two together tight enough to keep the brace in place while moving about. I must tighten the straps after buckling them, and the weak clasps don’t accommodate that need. After nearly 30 minutes of wrestling with it, trying to hold the clasp together with one hand while tightening the straps, and making sure to prevent the hinge from rotating out of position, I was able to walk around without a crutch or cane for the first time since my injury. In that moment, I felt it was worth the excessive effort I needed to put it on.Unfortunately, the next morning, I was not able to get the straps tight enough without the buckles popping open. I gave up, thinking it was probably “good enough” but, the brace soon slipped out of place, causing another tussling session with the dang thing.Possibly, my weight and motion limitations due to other injuries contribute to my difficulty in donning the brace, but I am sore all over, out of breath, frustrated, and completely exhausted by the time I get it adjusted correctly. If it just had sturdy clasps, I could get it on in without all the fuss.
