Great for Backup LED light, See Test Data Attached
I routinely use backup lighting around the house for repair projects, interior painting, or craft projects that need good strong lighting....as well as when the utility power goes out. Many years ago I bought a pair of photographic light stands with photoflood reflectors that accommodate typical screw-in light bulbs and provide a nice even flood of light on the subject area. They're my go-to lights for nearly any added-light need. In recent years I've switched them over to 1600-Lumen LED bulbs (100-watt-equivalent) that draw just 16 watts. The light stands are particularly good at accommodating light placement for good coverage...their only disadvantage is that one has to plug them in, which often requires the hassle and trip-risk of extension cords draped around the floor, and they need backup power if the utility is down.WELL...solution at hand. With the little Ecarke Portable Power Supply 200W Inverter with Makita-type battery added to my light stands, my need for extension cords is resolved and they even work when the utility is down. Now I just grab the light stands and inverter/battery when I need added light...so much more convenient than extension cords, and so much better light than typical portable battery-powered lights! As a test, I fully charged one of my 4 Ahr Makita 21V knockoff batteries to see how long my 16 watt (1600 Lm) LED bulb would last. To do the test, I hooked up a professional-quality ammeter between my battery and the Ecarke Inverter to see the exact amp draw of the Inverter under different conditions including the use of the internal light at its 3 levels. The life can then be easily calculated from the battery Ahr capacity without worrying whether my battery is a good or bad battery. Here are the results interpreted for a good 4 Ahr battery:Condition Current Runtime on 4 Ahr batteryInverter off (sleeping) 7 micro amps 65 yearsInverter ON (no load) 0.11 amps 36 hoursInverter On (light 100%) 0.20 amps 20 hoursInverter On (light 75%) 0.17 amps 24 hoursInverter On (light 50%) 0.15 amps 27 hoursInverter ON (16 W Bulb) 0.93 amps 4.3 hoursConclusionFirst, when the unit is turned off, it draws essentially no current; I would say that it doesn't need to be removed from the battery...but it does need to be turned OFF.Once the unit is turned ON, it draws a modest current, even with NO loads attached and NO internal light ON. It can be left in this condition for a while, but it can totally drain the battery in a day or so.The internal light is quite bright and is good for about 24 hours on a 4 Ahr battery...the 3 levels make a small difference. With the plugged-in 1600-lumen 120-volt LED bulb, the unit drew almost 1 amp, giving around 4 hours of use...a very useful time for many projects. And this can be easily extended by 2x by using a smaller wattage LED bulb.Bottom Line: Very useful product...highly recommended!

Portable power inverter
It functions as described. Using the 120 volt outlet is something I would recommend using only bin an extreme emergency as it depletes the battery fairly quick, although I haven't actually used that function because I didn't buy it for that reason. I do have other battery powered devices that also have a 120 volt outlets and I did use the 120 volt outlet. It depleted the battery in a few hours. That's not unusual for any battery powered device. The flashlight is very bright. The other outlets function very well. Its size and weight are great for camping making it easy to take with you under any circumstances. Its a great item to have during extended power outages.

Absolutely worth the money
This is a great addition to my growing collection of Ryobi batteries & tools. I plan on using for silly power losses from time to time. I added a 3to1 outlet piece & easily ran a 14watt 600 lumen table lamp (illuminating the room), my phone charger, and a USB fan. This unit worked flawlessly with both Ryobi & 3rd party batteries. Yes, it is small. However, that I have the batteries already (& extras ate relatively cheap), at this price it'ss a no-brainer. This easily will run basics in a room w/o power.

Turns off every 15 minutes
Turns off frequently if only using the on-board light since it will have too high of a current draw. Has to have at least one other load (something charging).

Solid choice for Makita inverter
This is a review based on just a little use. We will be taking it on a 4 month trek of 2400 miles on foot in a few weeks but we did some testing and it worked really well charging a Samsung Galaxy 22 from 5% multiple times. It was able to power a shop fan and some other items. We used it in conjunction with 2 sizes of makita batteries. From our initial tests we are satisfied with it and don’t have any complaints. It actually charged the phone like a fast charger which we did not expect, so that was cool. It seems well made as well. When we are done with the trip I will update this if we encounter any issues.

He's glad we bought these!!
My husband loves these! He wanted to wait a bit before reviewing these so he could really test them. They may be small, but they charge other things fairly quickly. He really likes that they work with his Dewalt batteries, all the ports work and though it's compact, it is durable enough he can use them anywhere.

Works but not as well as expected
So I bought this as a blue collar worker to use with a heating pad so I could keep warm during the winter. Plan was to put a big battery on it and wrap the pad around my torso under a belt. This thing works pretty well but I think something is wrong with the voltage as it fried the heating pad after a day and a half of usage and it screetched the entire time it was plugged in :( i will say that the flashlight in it is very nice and bright with variable dimmer. Great for charging phones but don't rely on it for anything heavy or expensive. I will say that I also play pokemon go in my freetime and have 2 devices and a automated token spinner plus electric hand warmers that I charge all at the same time(I have a charger hub i bring with me bc I'm extra like that) so I'm charging like 5 devices plus friends/GFs phone

Works great except for...
Works great. Light works. All ports work. Connects perfectly to the Milwaukee battery.Only con and huge con to me is that the unit shows a temperature gauge and shuts off when the temp gets too hot. But I haven't felt any heat on the unit. So during my time of use i see it more as a timer. This is bothersome to me because it times out and shuts off and I have to turn on the unit again. Each turn on cycle lasts maybe 15 or 20 mins tops. Not sure if other brands do the same thing. But atm this isn't a turn on and charge phone until full kinda of unit. Aside from the timer/temperature issue, the unit works great and is super easy to use. It also didn't come with any instructions but it doesn't take a genius to figure it out either. In the photo you can see the power button half way red. It's 100% green during initial turn on. Once it's red all the way the unit shuts off.
