Solid piece of steel
I purchased the 72" version at just over $30 when it was on sale via amazon. Couldn't beat that price and it was delivered to my door. The weight of this unit is significant but kind of lends itself to do its job well when breaking up hard clay and rocks. I've never used this tool before but moving to an area that a spade just can't cut it made a huge difference in prepping holes for some fruit trees. I can see the benefits and though it is heavy and a great shoulder workout, it does the job very well and is invaluable. I'm sure I could use this for all types of lever type issues as well to move objects as it is solid. Great product!

Very Good San Angelo Bar
This is a great San Angelo Bar it is solid and with its weight it does an excellent job breaking through concrete waste that contractors spill and bury next to your house. It has many uses and I don't believe a household should be without one.

Does exactly what it's supposed to
The soil in my yard is 80% boulders, so digging a hole is a nightmare. This things is a life saver. Super hard and heavy as hell. Sharp enough to pierce the spaces between the boulders so we can prise them out. It's also useful for installing things like tiki torches and landscape lighting in tight soil.

Good for loosing hard clay soil for fence posts but not good for prying/leveraging
I purchased this to assist with breaking through hard clay soil and removing some existing concrete fence post supports. For breaking hard soil, this would work fine but for any type of work that require leverage or prying, this flexes too easily. Even though it flexes, it is built rather sturdy and I'm thinking it would be bent before actually breaking. I am about 150 lbs and can flex this without putting all my weight into it.

A good buy.
You will only buy this product once in your lifetime unless you can't keep track of your tools or have a neighbor use it and never bring it back. It's long and heavy... "that's what she said."

A must-have tool
I live on a steep slope with mostly marl and rocks and digging holes for my fence posts is grueling. Have been researching how best to get it done and found this. The other reviews helped me decide to try it and I am so glad that I did. It really works.Used it over the weekend to dig two holes to set up my washing line and it was GREAT! You get a perfect size hole that a pick axe or shovel could not give you. I thought it would be too heavy for my petite frame but it was okay. This is a very efficient tool! One of the best tools that I have in my collection. So glad I found it.

Absolute beast
I naively thought I could dig 3-ft deep fence post holes with regular diggers and hand augers. Little did I know that my soil is a nightmare conglomeration of heavy clay, rocks, tree roots, and construction debris that not even powered augers short of one on a skid steer could get through. I would not have been able to get through one single hole without this digger bar. There were times it was literally the only tool that helped me make any progress. It is heavy, but thats exactly what you want in a tool like this. I broke rocks, I shaved clay from post hole sides, I chopped and shaved through tree roots, and I lifted yet more rocks. I love this tool so much. It just goes to show you that sometimes the most old fashioned thing—in this case, a big brute force pointy and blade ended bar—can be the most useful.
