Q: How is this different than the extreme duty gun oil?

If memory serves me right, lucas is synthetic and gun out is petroleum. The lucas is supposed to be safe for the reels plastic gears as where petroleum base gun oils may possible cause deterioration

It is petro based .I do use it for lubricating o rings for automotive use.
